Elegant neoclassical building with tall columns and red canopies at the entrance.

Washington, DC

Stanton Architecture converted the landmark Tariff Commission Building to a 180-guestroom luxury hotel in what became the winning entry to the US GSA competition. The substantial functional requirements of a modern hotel necessitated the addition of a new floor level. An innovative renovation that remains sensitive to the nuances of a nearly 200-year-old edifice, the interior spaces are skillfully adapted to function as guestrooms, corridors, dining and conferencing venues.
