DIRTY HABIT SF
San Francisco, CA
Part of their wholesale redesign of Hotel Zelos, Stanton Architecture tackled the renovation and rebranding of the hotel’s generic, 5th floor restaurant to create Dirty Habit, a lively social hub that caters to peak service crowds in San Francisco’s SoMa district.
Arranged in a sequence of spatial thresholds rather than as a single open hall, the layout guides guests from darker, enclosed interiors toward the signature outdoor roof patio. Interior materials of blackened metals, leather, brass, and rich wood tones, establish a dense and atmospheric character. As counterpoint, the outdoor patio softens the experience with open-air fire pits and lounge vignettes.
