DIRTY HABIT DC

Washington, D.C.

The remodel and expansion of the courtyard at the Monaco Hotel in Washington, D.C. was successfully completed in late 2016. This iconic project is housed within the historic Old General Post Office Building, also known as the Tariff Building, a National Historic Landmark dating back to the 1820s.

The renovation introduced a modern 1,400-square-foot glass pavilion, seamlessly integrating contemporary design with historic architecture. The pavilion features innovative dynamic glass technology, which automatically adjusts its tint to optimize natural light and reduce energy consumption.

The expanded restaurant space offers seating for 200 guests, including heated outdoor dining, four sophisticated bars, and six cozy firepits, creating an inviting ambiance for visitors. This project exemplifies a blend of sustainable architecture and historic preservation, making the Monaco Hotel a standout destination in Washington, D.C.
