942 MISSION STREET HAMPTON INN
San Francisco, CA
The Hampton Inn Downtown is a 15-story, four-star hotel, offering 174 guestrooms. This modern urban insertion includes ground floor retail space, and features a green roof planted with native California grasses. To maintain the scale and character of the surrounding neighborhood, the hotel’s upper floors are thoughtfully set back from the street, preserving the architectural harmony of the area.
The building’s design blends classic and contemporary elements, with its lower portion clad in terracotta veneer, and contrasting metallic-paneled upper and rear facades. Notably, this first San Francisco hotel development to break ground after the 2008 recession was one of the only high-rise hotels to be completed in the city in the prior 15 years. The Hampton Inn Downtown stands as a testament to innovative architecture and it opened a new chapter in San Francisco’s hospitality landscape.
