Stanton Architecture finished the conversion of the MV Santa Rosa - a historic car ferry that had long worked the waters of Western America - into a facility for Hornblower Cruises, Inc. The 6,000 square foot car deck was converted into rental banquet rooms and the passenger deck above was adapted into the corporate offi ces for Hornblower. On the top-level pilot deck, the navigation rooms were converted to conference rooms. The project affected a total of 20,000 square feet on-board the ship. In addition, the conversion modifi ed 12,000 square feet (400 linear feet) of the adjacent pier to make it safe for public access. MV Santa Rosa is berthed on the North side of Pier 3 along San Francisco’s Embarcadero.
